About Lend a Hand Home Care
The founders, Reno residents, created Lend a Hand as the first non-medical home care agency in northern Nevada. Though ownership has changed, the mission to serve the growing Reno area community remains the same.
Under its new ownership, Lend a Hand Home Care seeks to provide unparalleled service and the highest quality of care. We do this by hiring the most qualified and professional caregivers while integrating technology that allows us to be responsive, proactive leaders who advocate for the wellbeing of greater Reno’s older adults and others who need care.
As a local home care agency, we focus on forward-thinking care solutions that incorporate technology to streamline business processes and maintain strict compliance, allowing caregivers more time to focus on developing longstanding relationships with the clients we serve. Our goal is to provide education and services that encourage wellbeing and redefine what aging care can be.
We emphasize recruiting and retaining team members who are passionate about personal growth, making a difference in their communities and in the lives of others, and we welcome creative ideas in how we deliver the most exceptional home care services in the area.

Built on the vision to develop longstanding community relationships and help clients age with support and dignity at home, Lend a Hand Home Care utilizes an individualized and dynamic approach to providing senior care.
We envision new and creative ways of viewing the aging process and are driven to provide aging education and care services that encourage engagement and fuel aging adults with a desire to continue enjoying the many opportunities in the northern region of Nevada.

Owner + CEO
Jake saw his parents struggle while caring for his grandparents when he was younger and felt compelled to help families find the right balance between helping aging adults maintain independence and autonomy while also ensuring their safety.
A visionary and strategic business leader with a successful track record of founding, investing, and partnering in start-ups and small businesses, Jake is the owner of Lend a Hand and is motivated to make a positive impact in the greater Reno community.
With an extensive background in starting and managing small businesses, Jake brings years of experiential knowledge to Lend a Hand Home Care and is driven both personally and professionally by his family.
Outside of work, Jake enjoys spending time outdoors and taking advantage of the countless outdoor opportunities right in his backyard.
Chief Operating Officer
At a young age, Jennifer watched and helped her grandmother care for her grandfather, who was diagnosed with dementia, in order to keep him home with her as long as possible. It left a lasting impression.
Today, Jennifer combines her passion for business, people and a standard of excellence in overseeing operations, brand management, business development and the Lend a Hand team in her role as Chief Operating Officer. She brings an optimistic and solutions-oriented demeanor to developing efficient and scalable business practices.
She holds a dual Bachelor of Science in finance and marketing from Oakland University, completed an executive-level MBA series from Wharton Business School, and is pursuing a graduate degree in clinical psychotherapy from Pacifica Graduate Institute.
As an outdoor enthusiast and athlete, she enjoys spending most of her free time outdoors in the Sierras on the mountain, on the trails, and on the lakes with her husband and two sons or with her Tahoe family of friends.
Finance + Risk Manager
Rebecca and her husband consider themselves fortunate to have three sets of living grandparents who they see regularly. Through these close ties, Rebecca has realized how important it is for older adults to be able to stay connected, engage reliable assistance, and enjoy a comfortable living environment in order to remain active and independent throughout the aging process. Living in close proximity to loved ones has enabled Rebecca’s two young daughters to develop bonds with their great grandparents, highlighting for her the importance of generational connection and the preciousness of time.
Rebecca holds a Bachelor of Science in accountancy from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. Outside of work, she enjoys swimming, hiking, biking, baking, and spending time with family. She has hiked the Grand Canyon rim to rim in a day, six times!
Nurse Resource / Solutions Specialist
Terri developed a passion for nursing at an early age and focuses on the unique ways she can impact the lives of clients and families. She believes that trust is the cornerstone of building a caregiving relationship.
Terri graduated from the College of the Redwoods and Mendocino College nursing programs. Before coming to Lend a Hand, she was a hospice nurse for eight years and worked in a variety of emergency, medical, and surgical settings. Throughout her career, Terri has provided hands-on caregiving and understands that expertise, compassion, and consistent care are essential for empowering people throughout their care experience.
When not working, Terri enjoys volunteering, reading, watching movies, and spending time with friends and family.
Client Relations + Community Outreach
Nicolle is passionate about helping others and having an impact on their lives. She values communication and the unique relationship between caregivers and families. Throughout her career, Nicolle has provided exceptional hands-on caregiving in a range of settings including home care, hospice care, private care, hospitals, and skilled nursing. Nicolle is especially drawn to geriatric care because she is inspired by clients’ life stories and understands the unique way that caregivers can engage and empower seniors.
When not working, Nicolle enjoys music, yoga, spending time with her family, and exploring the beauty of the area through hiking, camping, and paddle boarding.
Rachel first discovered home care after a family friend was impacted by a stroke. From this experience, she realized the need for trustworthy and reliable in-home caregivers and the extraordinary impact they can have on clients and families. Rachel’s professional background is in hospitality services and sales and she is happiest when she is connecting with others and providing an excellent service experience.
Outside of work, Rachel has diverse interests including reading and writing, exploring poetry and philosophy, playing and listening to music, and collecting vinyl records. She especially enjoys sharing her interests with her son and watching him develop his own passions.
Together, the leadership team brings positivity, integrity and a forward-thinking perspective to Lend a Hand Home Care and values strong relationships that consistently demonstrate a high level of care and a standard of quality that is paramount.
As a locally owned agency, Lend a Hand is a member of a HCAOA and PCAN (Personal Care Association of Nevada) and takes a proactive approach to care, providing education to the community on home care and aging issues, and encouraging seniors and their families to plan for aging care needs.
Our Care Team
Lend a Hand Home Care seeks to attract the highest quality of caregivers who are committed to making a difference in the lives of the older adults and the families we serve. Our care team is made up of professional, friendly and knowledgeable caregivers who value the experiences and lifestyles of our clients and have extensive skills to meet a wide range of aging care needs.
Before joining our care team, each candidate must pass a four-step interview process and is screened with national level background checks, including DMV, a ten-panel drug screening, a criminal check, and two-step TB testing.
Once employed by Lend a Hand, caregivers receive comprehensive on-boarding and ongoing caregiver training, as well as access to an extensive library of caregiver training courses through Care Academy. This allows our clients and their loved ones to feel confident that they are in the hands of trained professionals.
To understand our clients’ ongoing needs, opinions and concerns, Lend a Hand Home Care utilizes Home Care Pulse, a third-party satisfaction measurement firm, to collect unbiased reviews from our team. Based on those reviews, we have achieved the designation as a Best of Home Care – Employer of Choice, showcasing our commitment to an exceptional work environment for our care team, leading to the best possible care for our clients.
